# Accept Payments on Shopify with the Payzah Gateway App

> Install the free Payzah Gateway app from the Shopify App Store to accept KNET, Visa, and Mastercard payments in Kuwaiti Dinars on your Shopify store.

The Payzah Gateway app adds Payzah as a payment method at your Shopify checkout. It handles KNET, Visa, and Mastercard, processes transactions in Kuwaiti Dinars, and supports refunds and multi-vendor settlement — with no code required.

## Before You Start

* A Payzah merchant account — register through the [Payzah app](http://onelink.to/gjt5ed)
* Your Payzah API key from your dashboard
* Admin access to your Shopify store

## Installation

    Open the [Payzah Gateway listing](https://apps.shopify.com/payzah) on the Shopify App Store and select **Install**. Log in to your Shopify store when prompted and approve the requested permissions.

    The app requests access to payment gateways and payment sessions in order to process transactions, and to store owner details for account verification.

  <Step title="Enter your API key">
    Once installed, open the Payzah Gateway app from your Shopify admin and paste in your API key from the Payzah dashboard.

      Use your test key while setting up and switch to your production key only when you are ready to accept real payments.

  <Step title="Activate the payment method">
    In your Shopify admin, go to **Settings → Payments**. Payzah Gateway will appear among your available payment providers. Activate it so it shows at checkout.

  <Step title="Place a test order">
    Run a test transaction using the [sandbox test cards](/docs/guides/test-credentials) to confirm the full flow: checkout, redirect to the payment page, and return to your store with the order marked paid.

  <Step title="Go live">
    Swap your test key for your production key, then place one small real order to confirm everything works end to end. Work through the [Go-Live Checklist](/docs/guides/go-live-checklist) before announcing it to customers.

## What Your Customers See

At checkout, customers select Payzah as their payment method and are taken to a secure Payzah-hosted payment page. There they choose KNET, Visa, or Mastercard, complete the payment, and are returned to your store with their order confirmed.

## Refunds

The Payzah Gateway app supports full refund control. Issue refunds from your Shopify admin, and the corresponding transaction is updated on the Payzah side.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom                                    | Fix                                                                                                                                       |
| ------------------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Payzah does not appear at checkout         | Confirm it is activated under **Settings → Payments**, not just installed                                                                 |
| Payments fail with an authentication error | Check the API key was pasted with no leading or trailing spaces, and that you are using the right key for the environment                 |
| Test cards rejected in production          | Test cards only work against the test environment. Switch back to your test key to keep testing                                           |
| Order not marked as paid after payment     | Verify the transaction in your Payzah dashboard. If it shows as captured, contact Payzah support with the order and transaction reference |
